Many years ago I was window shopping in Santa Fe when I saw a “drop dead necklace” in a bead store. I fell in love with it, and said to myself, “I can make one.” So I bought beads and stringing supplies and began my jewelry career. My love of beads has continued for many years. I am attracted to the colors and the history of the beads.
Beads were the first personal adornment. They were so rare in certain places that they were thought of as money. They are found worldwide and I have been lucky enough to collect some during my travels. Now I make unique jewelry and will sell it directly to you, the discerning customer. In the past, I have sold wholesale to museum gift shops and retail stores. Feel free to share this site with your friends. All Straus pieces are one of a kind, so you won’t see another like the one you have chosen.
